Electrical Design Engineer III

Timmons Group is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer III to join our Electrical Design Group in Charlotte, NC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating electrical protection and control design deliverables for various projects. Your expertise will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the electric grid's resiliency and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the preparation of proposals and scope development, including conceptual designs and execution plans, engineering/project cost estimates and schedules.
- Design electrical protection and control systems, including panel arrangements, one lines/single lines, three lines, AC schematics, DC elementaries, equipment wiring, and relay panel wiring.
- Develop and improve processes, tools, and technology implementations to enhance design efficiency and quality.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission Line, and others, to ensure seamless design activities.

- Perform quality reviews for other engineers and designers.
- Support business development and marketing initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum 7 years of related experience (completion of master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience).
- Must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE).
- Proficiency with National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE/ANSI Standards.
- Knowledge of computer drafting tools such as AutoCAD preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
