Job Summary:

Del Monte Foods is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and repair of all plant equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling mechanics, ensuring inventory accuracy, and enforcing safety and G.M.P. policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing plant equipment.
  • Schedule mechanics for time and shift preference responsibilities in accordance with Production requirements, capital projects, and yearly plant maintenance schedules.
  • Responsible for the inventory accuracy of the parts storeroom.
  • Administer and enforce company policies related to Safety and G.M.P.'s.
  • Direct workers engaged in performing repairs to machines associated with canning equipment.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce Safety and Good Manufacturing Policies.
  • Implementation of established safety training program with weekly meetings of designated mechanics.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Schedules and supervises work to achieve readiness of equipment to meet Production requirements.
  • Schedules mechanics for time and shift on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for the inventory accuracy of the parts storeroom.
  • Orders necessary parts needed to maintain the equipment.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Quality and Food Safety - Overall responsible for finished product quality and food safety. Maintain standards and adjust processes to meet standards.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Del Monte Foods Quality Systems to assure compliance with quality and food safety requirements.
  • Performs other administrative duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS Industrial Technology, Operations Management (or comparable degree) or Equivalent Experience.
  • 2-5 maintenance experience in packaging and/or warehouse environment strongly preferred.
  • Applicable working experience related to supervision of cross-functional maintenance departments.
  • Strong PC-skills relating to spreadsheet, database, and word processing programs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and priorities at one time.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills required.
  • Working knowledge of industry-applicable CMMS.
  • Experience within a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Comparable supervisory experience preferred.
