Radiation Therapy Medical Physicist

A Therapeutic Med Physicist 1 performs the technical aspect of safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy to achieve the therapeutic treatment outcome of a patient. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated clinical skills in quality assurance testing, computer-aided planning, and dosimetric measurements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs regularly scheduled quality assurance testing of treatment-related machines and systems.
- Supervises and evaluates any radiation treatment that requires a therapeutic medical physicist to be present.
- Participates in acceptance and commissioning of new treatment modalities.
- Maintains state and federal compliance of the department.
Requirements:
- Master or DMP in Medical Physics or related field required.
- Licensed (either full or temporary) by the State of Texas as a Medical Physicist required.
- Eligible for Therapeutic Medical Physics board certification by the American Board of Radiology required.
