Key Responsibilities:


• Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner, addressing their needs and concerns.


• Register new patients and update established patient demographics, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.


• Schedule patient appointments for consultations, medical procedures, and follow-up visits, taking into account their preferences and availability.


• Accurately enter all insurance information, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.


• Process incoming consultation requests and return statuses to the requesting physician office, maintaining effective communication.


• Index consultation requests and external office records, ensuring efficient and secure data management.


• Initiate the process of obtaining HMO authorizations, streamlining the authorization process.


• Handle patient concerns and complaints in a professional and courteous manner, resolving issues promptly and fairly.

Requirements:


• At least 1 year of experience in a customer service environment, preferably in a medical office setting.


• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients and staff.


• Knowledge of GE-Athena practice management software is beneficial but not required.


• Ability to operate a computer (Microsoft Office) and basic office equipment, with a high level of proficiency.


• Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

Work Environment:


• Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, with occasional overtime.
