About the Role

Panasonic Energy of North America (PENA) is seeking an EHS Technician I to join our team at the Gigafactory, a state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery factory near Reno, Nevada. As an EHS Technician I, you will play a critical role in supporting the execution of our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program elements, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of our EHS Management System (EMS) and Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain training programs to educate employees on EHS procedures, policies, and best practices.
  • Investigate incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Develop and maintain EHS metrics and reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Biology, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
  • 0-1 years of experience in EHS or a related field.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
