Financial Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to join our team at Welch and Rushe Division in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. This opportunity will provide a chance to grow professionally and contribute to the success of our company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements and promote a positive safety culture.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including quarterly tax returns and state license registrations.
- Manage General Ledger entries, accounts receivable, and vendor payments.
- Coordinate the month-end close process, ensuring reported results comply with GAAP and internal controls.
- Facilitate audit requests and oversee the training and development of direct reports.
- Manage payroll processing and create forecasts, reports, and variances for management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of relevant financial experience, including supervisory roles.
- College diploma or bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Background in construction or project-based accounting preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and Sage.
- Strong attention to detail.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant, US) or CPA (Certified Professional Accountant, Canada) preferred.
- Ability to work varied and additional hours during closing and budgeting periods.
