The California State Teacher's Retirement System (CalSTRS) Information Technology (IT) Service Desk Unit is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student Assistant to join our team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to CalSTRS information technology systems.
- Perform various duties in support of CalSTRS IT systems, including remote software installations, loaner equipment check-in/out, and daily equipment inventory.
- Process access forms and maintain accurate documentation of service desk activities.
- Collaborate with the Service Desk team to ensure seamless delivery of IT services.
- Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term at an accredited college or university on our affiliation list.
- Must be enrolled in at least six-semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students; four-semester units or six quarter units for graduate students.
- Must have a strong understanding of basic computer operating systems (Windows 10, Mac OSX) and mobile device support skills (iPhone Operating System, iOS).
- Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and have a proven reliable work ethic.
- Previous customer service or information technology experience.
- Individuals who are, or have been, a dependent child in foster care, a homeless youth, or a formerly incarcerated youth as defined by Government Code section 18220 are encouraged to apply and will be given priority.
Work is performed in an office environment. Must be able to sit for extended periods, frequently stand and walk, and have manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
