Job Title: Assistant Professor of Public Relations

Loyola University New Orleans College of Music and Media's School of Communication and Design invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Public Relations position.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in public relations techniques, writing and production, cases and campaigns, and social media. They will also be responsible for mentoring students, creating a climate that attracts students of diverse backgrounds, and expanding the public relations course offerings within strategic communication and graduate curricula.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach three courses each semester.
  • Serve as an academic adviser to PR students.
  • Work in the endowed Shawn Donnelley Center for Nonprofit Communications.
  • Help advise the Bateman team and PRSSA chapter.
Qualifications:
  • At least a master's degree in public relations or a related field. A Ph.D. and/or professional certifications are preferred.
  • Ten years of professional and/or teaching experience in public relations.
  • A strategic mindset and expertise with cutting-edge PR campaigns and case studies.
  • Ability to inspire students and embrace collegiality.
  • Membership and involvement in PRSA.
