Your Key Responsibilities

Oversee the conceptualization, development, and implementation of engineering initiatives that align with business objectives and product specifications. Manage the technical design process, including planning, execution, and reporting on program timelines and testing outcomes, with support from senior engineering colleagues. Create, develop, and document product designs that fulfill customer or market requirements in terms of functionality, cost-effectiveness, reliability, manufacturability, and safety. Thrive in an Agile setting by prioritizing backlog items and delivering results that meet acceptance criteria, while actively collaborating with the Product Owner and Scrum Master to address any challenges. Ensure adherence to Product Technical Specifications and international standards by employing Design for Six Sigma and Design for Reliability methodologies. Maintain comprehensive documentation of technical data generated throughout assigned projects and tasks, in accordance with engineering standards and practices. Develop and manage User Stories along with supporting technical documentation for all design efforts, and prepare materials for technical reviews, including tolerance loops, drawings, bills of materials, product costing, action lists, risk assessments, and root cause analyses. Utilize solid modeling software (PTC Creo / Windchill) to produce models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and BOMs for designs encompassing plastic, stamped metal, and electrically conductive components. Generate and maintain product documentation, user manuals, project logs, and design/test documentation. Facilitate design reviews, evaluate concepts, and assess the cost-effectiveness of Mechanical/Electrical designs. Coordinate engineering efforts with procurement and manufacturing teams, assisting in supplier selection and component evaluation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of engineering experience, particularly in the development of industrial or electrical products.
  • Proven experience in product qualification, transitioning products into production, and delivering on challenging commitments within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with Low Voltage Switchboards or similar products, along with knowledge of regulatory standards such as UL, CSA, NEMA, and NEC.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to collaborate across various functions and global teams.
  • Proficiency in design software (Creo preferred), PLM systems (Windchill preferred), as well as magnetic and thermal simulation tools.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (10-15% of the time), both domestically and internationally.
