About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading provider of benefits solutions, where you will have the chance to impact lives, unlock potential, and drive business growth. As a Benefits Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting consultants to help clients understand changes to benefit laws, implications to their benefit plans, and necessary steps to be in compliance. You will conduct compliance reviews for clients, create compliance gap analyses, and provide samples of documents when available. You will also work with internal teams to perform necessary follow-up and provide producers, account managers, and clients with timely and accurate analyses of current legislative initiatives and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support consultants to help clients understand changes to benefit laws and implications to their benefit plans
  • Conduct compliance reviews for clients and create compliance gap analyses
  • Provide samples of documents when available and work with internal teams to perform necessary follow-up
  • Provide producers, account managers, and clients with timely and accurate analyses of current legislative initiatives and regulations
  • Provide clients with well-researched recommendations leading clients to take appropriate actions to conform to changes in the legislative or regulatory environment
  • Interpret source materials and provide guidance and advice to corporate staff as well as branch office staff
  • Participate in client sales and retention efforts as an active part of the Sales and Consulting teams
  • Assist producers and account managers in developing appropriate action steps to assure legal and regulatory compliance
  • Conduct internal employee training on selected legislative and regulatory topics
  • Provide prototype information summaries, compliance checklists, model letters, and other consulting tools needed to support consultants and account managers
  • Support compliance help desk as necessary to answer questions regarding compliance issues
  • Provide assistance in drafting, editing, and producing any newsletters and technical bulletins
  • Work with internal teams to address and resolve complex compliance issues for clients

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree and 10 years of related experience. You will also need knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, cafeteria plans, nondiscrimination rules, HIPAA, and other federal, legal, and regulatory issues. A Juris Doctorate and current license to practice law are preferred.

Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
