Job Title: Software Engineer - Operations

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with a focus on Operations to join our team at PsiQuantum. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and managing automated pipelines, ensuring smooth integrations, and working cross-functionally to drive operational excellence across the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, configure, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate the software delivery process.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure that infrastructure, automation, and monitoring are aligned with development and operational goals.
  • Write robust, modular, and maintainable Python code to manage operational tasks and integrations.
  • Oversee GitLab environments, including version control, automated builds, and deployment processes.
  • Leverage AWS services to build, maintain, and optimize scalable cloud-based infrastructures.
  • Implement monitoring and logging tools to ensure system reliability and preemptively identify issues.
  • Foster collaboration between developers, testers, and IT operations to improve software delivery speed and quality.
  • Implement security best practices in all stages of the development lifecycle, from design to deployment, including ensuring proper authentication and authorization controls.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and making data-driven recommendations to optimize operational workflows.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior team members, ensuring alignment with best practices and industry standards.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on operations and DevOps practices.
  • Expertise in Python programming for building automation tools and scripts.
  • Solid hands-on experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services), including deploying and managing infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with GitLab for managing version control, CI/CD configurations, and pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of Git for managing and tracking code changes across teams and environments.
  • Experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines, including testing, release, and deployment automation.
  • Solid knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch for system health tracking and performance management.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and implementing security measures in CI/CD workflows.
  • Familiarity with systems thinking and experience in optimizing software architectures for performance and reliability.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.

The range below reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salary across all US locations. Actual compensation may vary outside of this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's qualifications including relevant education and training, competencies, experience, geographic location, and business needs. Base pay is only one part of the total compensation package. Full time roles are eligible for equity and benefits. Base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

For a fully qualified candidate, the expected base pay range is:
