Job Summary

The Computed Tomography Technologist, under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs computed tomography (CT) procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform High-Quality CT Procedures: Utilize advanced imaging technology to capture high-quality images of patients' internal structures, ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Communicate Effectively: Utilize AIDET when communicating with patients to ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others.
  • Prepare Patients and Equipment: Position patients, adjust immobilization devices, move equipment into specified positions, and adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Protect Patients and Employees: Adhere to safety requirements, infection-control, drug, and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain Equipment and Work Area: Ensure equipment and work areas meet quality and cleanliness standards, and report issues to management or appropriate departments.
  • Obtain and Verify Documentation: Obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation, including requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, and shielding precautions taken.
  • Maintain Medical Imaging Records: Maintain medical imaging records in appropriate systems and according to department policies and standards for interpretation in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Certification/License/Registration: Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography (CT).
  • Education and Experience: Must have a degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field, and relevant experience in computed tomography.
