Job Summary

Saybrook University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented student to fill the role of FWS Advancement and Alumni Affairs Assistant in the Office of Institutional Advancement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Planning and Development: Assist the Alumni Association in planning and executing events, conferences, and other activities that foster engagement and community among alumni and university stakeholders.
  • Alumni Association Support: Schedule and coordinate meetings, conferences, and other events for the Alumni Association, ensuring seamless execution and effective communication.
  • Grant Research and Writing: Conduct thorough research on potential grant opportunities and assist in the preparation of grant applications, working closely with the Director of Institutional Advancement to ensure high-quality submissions.
  • Corporate Sponsorship: Identify and research potential corporate sponsors for the university, developing relationships and securing partnerships that support the university's mission and goals.
  • Donor Recognition and Communication: Prepare and send pre-written donor recognition letters and thank-you notes on behalf of the university, ensuring timely and personalized communication with donors and stakeholders.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Institutional Advancement, supporting the overall goals and objectives of the Office of Institutional Advancement.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Student Eligibility: Be a current student in good standing at Saybrook University.
  • Federal Work Study Eligibility: Be eligible for a Federal Work Study position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Detail-Oriented: Possess strong organizational and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders, including alumni, university staff, and corporate sponsors.
  • Research Ability: Possess strong research skills, with the ability to conduct thorough research and analyze data to inform grant applications and corporate sponsorship opportunities.
