Hours: 10-12 Per Week
Employment Type: Part-Time, Academic Year
Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Director of Chapel
Position Summary:
The Chapel Music Coordinator plays a vital role in crafting worship experiences for a diverse community at Fuller. This position involves providing musical and spiritual guidance for chapel services, catering to both online and in-person participants.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Planning
- Design and organize chapel liturgy for both residential and online participants using designated planning tools.
- Select and lead musical components for chapel services, including preparation of arrangements and charts for musicians.
- Engage in collaborative evaluations and brainstorming sessions during regular planning meetings.
Worship Leadership
- Facilitate musical worship in assigned chapel services, both in-person and online.
- Provide pastoral leadership, including prayers and welcoming remarks during services.
- Participate actively in all rehearsals and chapel gatherings.
- Engage in community-building activities post-services.
Administrative Duties
- Prepare musical charts and arrangements for rehearsals on scheduled days.
- Upload liturgical content and song lyrics for production teams, ensuring appropriateness for all community members.
- Coordinate with technical staff regarding stage setups and sound requirements.
- Attend weekly planning and production meetings.
- Recruit volunteers from various backgrounds for participation in liturgical events.
Qualifications:
- Must be a current student or alumni of Fuller.
- Ability to learn quickly and a strong desire to enhance knowledge of worship music and design.
- Experience in leading worship across diverse settings is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in reading musical charts and playing an instrument is advantageous.
- Skills in writing and designing liturgical content are preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in Spanish, Korean, or Mandarin is a plus.
- Willingness to engage in leadership roles for special events as needed.
- Familiarity with digital tools such as Google Calendar, Google Docs, and planning software is required.
- Able to handle equipment and materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
Additional Notes:
- All selected candidates will be required to participate in a musical audition.
- Commitment to the entire academic year is necessary.
- Adherence to community standards is expected.
- This role requires physical presence on campus.
Compensation:
- Hourly compensation is set at $25.00.
