Unit Overview: The Electrophysiology (EP) lab nursing staff delivers expert nursing care to patients experiencing a range of health conditions through thorough assessment, strategic planning, effective implementation, and comprehensive evaluation of nursing practices for individuals undergoing electrophysiological interventions.

EP Lab Details:
Our facility operates two specialized EP labs focused on device management and ablation procedures, functioning ten hours daily, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The primary demographic served includes patients from adolescence to end-of-life stages, particularly those with cardiac arrhythmias, syncope, heart failure, post-cardiac arrest, or those at risk of sudden cardiac events.

Common EP procedures encompass Diagnostic Electrophysiology studies, infusion studies, Structural heart interventions such as LAAO implantation, Cardiac ablation, and Cardioversion.

Additionally, the role involves the implantation and follow-up care of cardiac rhythm management devices, including Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators, Pacemakers, Leadless pacemakers, Cardiac resynchronization devices, and Implantable loop recorders.

Care Coordination: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Administering pre-operative medications and providing preparation instructions
- Managing case coordination
- Troubleshooting EP-specific equipment
- Developing staffing and billing strategies
- Facilitating communication with other medical service areas and healthcare providers.

On-call Requirements: None

Work Schedule:

The position requires a commitment of four days per week, which may consist of four 10-hour shifts, two 12-hour shifts paired with two 8-hour shifts, or a flexible combination of these options.
