Job Overview

Position: Electrical Wiring Technician

As an Electrical Wiring Technician, your primary responsibility will be to meticulously adhere to specifications and guidelines to construct wiring harness products and prepare kitting materials, ensuring compliance with IPC620/Mil-Spec workmanship standards and client expectations.

Your role will involve performing manual tasks such as routing wires, crimping and inserting terminals into connectors, cutting and stripping wires/cables, applying heat shrink-ID labels and sleeves, and soldering pre-assembly harnesses while following internal procedures.

You will utilize cutting-stripping pliers, heat guns, and various other manual tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and route wire-cables and components using harnesses, while adhering to documentation, parts lists, equipment, and tools according to customer specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints and written instructions effectively.
  • Gather necessary materials and tools to perform tasks efficiently.
  • Execute cutting, stripping, soldering, marking, and terminating wires using hand and semi-automated equipment.
  • Complete travelers accurately and maintain all paperwork associated with the harness.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of in-process assemblies and finished products to ensure compliance with both internal and customer specifications.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment (FOD).
  • Adhere to safety policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or department manager.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in harness assembly, kitting, cutting, stripping, crimping, etc.
  • Background in assembly/production with a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Exceptional hand dexterity.
  • Able to handle small components effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be capable of lifting and carrying a minimum of 10 lbs.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year in wire harness assembly (required).
  • Minimum of 1 year in electronics and electromechanical assembly occupations (required).
