Located in the picturesque North Bay region, the Product Marketing Associate Manager will report directly to the Director of Product Management. This role is pivotal in spearheading product management innovation projects, overseeing business operations, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional time and project management abilities, along with the adaptability to thrive in a dynamic environment. As a smaller organization, we prioritize agility and hands-on involvement to achieve our goals. Candidates should be comfortable with a fast-paced setting where priorities can shift rapidly.
Our marketing team, though compact, is highly effective. While we are renowned for our premium dairy products, Clover Sonoma offers a diverse range of items across more than ten categories. This variety ensures a stimulating work environment, but it also presents challenges in terms of resource allocation for marketing initiatives. The ability to prioritize effectively and collaborate across teams is essential. We work diligently while fostering a supportive and enjoyable atmosphere.
Compensation: $85,300 - $100,400, depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
Product Management Innovation
- Facilitate weekly new product development meetings to promote clear communication and efficient workflows among marketing and cross-functional teams (e.g., sourcing, quality assurance, regulatory, sales, operations). Create and oversee project timelines and deliverables for innovation projects.
- Implement the Stage-Gate process to ensure all requirements are fulfilled and necessary approvals are secured before advancing to subsequent stages of product development.
Business Management
- Analyze branded and competitive activities using syndicated data (Nielsen & SPINS), focusing on distribution, SKU performance, pricing, and category trends. Formulate recommendations based on analysis.
- Assist the sales team by preparing product presentations and sales materials for client meetings.
Insights
- Utilize consumer, shopper, and market data to help define both short-term and long-term innovation strategies across various categories.
- Employ data and trends to gain a deeper understanding of the demographics, psychographics, and behavioral motivations of consumers.
Planning
- Use brand, consumer, and market data to assist the Director in crafting an annual plan that aligns marketing and sales efforts to maximize brand demand.
- Execute annual brand plans to meet sales and market share objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3-5 years of experience in marketing or a related field, with a preference for 2-3 years in the consumer packaged goods sector (Natural Foods or Food and Beverage).
- Familiarity with syndicated data sources (e.g., Spins, Nielsen).
- Understanding of traditional trade channels: natural, grocery, independent, mass, and club.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects from inception to completion while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
