Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our licensed physical therapists in delivering exceptional treatment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide routine treatment to patients as assigned by a licensed physical therapist, ensuring accurate documentation of patient progress and communication with the treatment team.
- Collaborate with physical therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, promoting patient independence and functional ability.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical abilities and limitations, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for rehabilitation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in physical therapy, enhancing your skills and expertise.
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
- Current Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity from another state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Prior experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant or in a related healthcare field.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMRs) and other healthcare software systems.
- Ability to work in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and patient-centered care.
