The 22nd DAA/Del Mar Fairgrounds is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Custodian Supervisor I to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our facilities, ensuring they are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the activities of custodial staff, ensuring that all areas of the fairgrounds are clean and tidy.
- Develop and implement effective cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
- Manage and maintain all cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order and adequate for the needs of the fairgrounds.
- Develop and implement training programs for custodial staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Monitor and report on cleaning costs, ensuring that they are within budget and making recommendations for cost savings.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in custodial supervision or a related field.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
The Custodian Supervisor I will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to dust, dirt, and other environmental hazards. The position requires the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity.
