Position Summary

The Architectural CAD Technician plays a vital role in providing drafting assistance to our sales and operations teams. This position is responsible for creating and modifying detailed drawings for high-end kitchen hoods, countertops, fireplace mantels, flooring, and other architectural details. The role encourages collaboration and offers opportunities for professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate and maintain shop drawings for various projects utilizing AutoCAD.
  • Analyze project plans, requirements, and specifications to produce precise drawings.
  • Work closely with Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Procurement teams to ensure feasibility of drawings.
  • Update drawings based on red-lined requests.
  • Measure templates to convert into CAD drawings.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and, when necessary, bills of quantities.
  • Assist in the creation of production drawings.
  • Adhere to established CAD standards and specifications.
  • Deliver clear, accurate, and concise drawings.
  • Propose innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of drafting experience with AutoCAD in residential design or manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of architectural drawing conventions, with the ability to interpret complex blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership of responsibilities while representing Francois & Company LLC with integrity.
  • A commitment to exceeding client and colleague expectations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with 3D CAD software.
  • Familiarity with Rhino software.
  • Knowledge of estimating software, preferably PlanSwift.
  • Experience in preparing shop drawings, cut tickets, and bills of quantities.
  • Verification of quotes and quantities from suppliers.
  • Experience in staircase construction and custom architectural elements.
