Overview

Gray Architects & Engineers, LLC is seeking an experienced Architecture Design Manager to join our team in Atlanta, GA. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design process for industrial architecture projects, ensuring that our clients receive high-quality, innovative solutions that meet their needs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design process for industrial architecture projects, including the development of design proposals, research, and consultation with clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate engineering elements into unified designs.
  • Prepare and administer design contracts with clients and sub-consultants.
  • Facilitate design reviews and presentations, ensuring that designs meet client expectations.
  • Coordinate design activities with clients and Gray AE sub-consultants.
  • Develop and manage design schedules and estimates of A/E costs for projects.
  • Monitor project design activities to ensure compliance with Gray AE standards and procedures.
  • Manage all administrative tasks related to design for the project.
  • Manage all costs related to design activities to ensure accurate cost control.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of seven years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet, email, and Revit applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear. They are regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.

Frequently in a normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. May be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibrations. Noise level on the job site is normally moderate to loud. Overtime will be required. Some travel will be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

May supervise 1 to 3 team members, including Architectural Technicians and Assistant Design Managers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training team members, planning, assigning, and directing work; provides input for appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
