Job Description and Duties

As a Seasonal Clerk with the Department of Consumer Affairs, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive, safe, and secure work environment that values diverse cultures, perspectives, and experiences. You will be responsible for providing equitable services and treatment to all members of the public, collaborating with underserved communities and tribal governments, and working towards improving outcomes for all Californians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with various administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
  • Provide excellent customer service to the public, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Working Conditions:

The incumbent works up to 40 hours per week in an office setting, with artificial light and temperature control. Daily access to and use of a personal computer and telephone is essential. Sitting and standing requirements are consistent with office work. Seasonal Clerks can work up to 1500 hours in a calendar year.

Special Requirements:
  • The position requires a Background Investigation to be cleared prior to being hired.
  • Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) checks will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
