We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Imaging and Referral Coordinator to join our team at the Center for Orthopedic and Research Excel. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for coordinating patient referrals, scheduling appointments, and ensuring seamless communication with patients, physicians, and external facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Referral Coordination
- Refer patients to external facilities for various ordered services/tests based on insurance, patient preference, physician preference, and/or location.
- Patient Communication
- Update and confirm patient demographic information and insurance eligibility, including coordination of benefits.
- Successfully process orders and outside referrals, contact patients to schedule appointments, and import documents to the patient's chart.
- Provide ongoing communication with patients regarding authorization, financial counseling, and scheduling.
- Administrative Tasks
- Accurately update patient information in the practice management system and EMR.
- Perform all required documentation of work completed.
- Ensure that canceled appointments and related ancillary appointments are canceled and communicated to all stakeholders.
- Confidentiality and Compliance
- Ensure strict confidentiality of all health records, member information, and meet HIPAA guidelines.
- A minimum of two years of experience in the healthcare field is required.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong customer service orientation are required with a strong background in computers and data entry.
- Knowledge of scheduling and billing methods and policies regarding productivity/workload analysis and scheduling procedures.
- Preferred previous scheduling or referral experience is preferred.
