Position Overview:

The Solar Project Engineer will oversee all facets of solar energy projects, ensuring effective project execution from inception to completion. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Initiate and develop project charters to outline objectives and scope.
  2. Plan and manage projects according to established project management methodologies, focusing on:
    • Defining project baselines, including scope and schedule.
    • Implementing quality management processes.
    • Creating and executing communication plans.
    • Resource allocation and risk management, including risk identification and response planning.
  3. Draft detailed specifications for equipment and develop related checklists.
  4. Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and budget effectively.
  5. Collaborate with vendors to evaluate installation techniques and labor requirements.
  6. Work closely with various departments, including Engineering, Project Management Office, and Purchasing, to ensure project alignment.
  7. Monitor project progress, controlling and closing projects while providing updates to senior management.
  8. Ensure comprehensive project documentation and report on lessons learned.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or a related field with a focus on project management. A minimum of three years of experience in project management, engineering, or a similar area is required.

Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in time management and able to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent budgeting and cost management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Language Proficiency:
Fluency in English is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with AutoCAD and CAD design.
  • Bilingual capabilities in Spanish or German.
