We are seeking a skilled Electronics Repair Specialist to join our team at Heath Consultants Incorporated. As an Instrument Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining instruments and equipment used in the natural gas and utility industry.
The ideal candidate will have experience in electronic repair, troubleshooting, and mechanical skills. You will be required to travel to customers' facilities to perform installations, repairs, and calibrations. This role requires strong communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform final testing and calibration on instruments during repair.
- Troubleshoot and repair instruments at multiple locations using a mobile repair van.
- Ability to properly monitor and schedule mobile repair routes for customers efficiently.
- Provide proper customer service and technical support when needed.
- Install and transfer mobile units on vehicles as requested by customers.
- Complete necessary documentation.
- Report improper operations, defective materials, and unusual conditions to supervision.
- Recommend improvements in quality, procedures, components, and processes.
- Follow safety rules and regulations and maintain a neat, clean, and orderly work area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two-year technical degree or equivalent preferred.
- Not afraid to learn new skills quickly.
- 1 to 3 years' experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fields.
- 1 to 3 years' experience in on-site repairs or traveling to customer sites.
- Must be computer literate.
- Holds a legal driver's license, can drive company vehicles.
Physical Requirements
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by this individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- While performing the duties of this job, this individual is regularly required to stand.
- This individual is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance.
- This individual is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- Ability to travel and be away from home during the week (about 40-50% of the time).
Pay and Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7 am-3:30 pm plus overtime required to account for travel and time-sensitive repairs.
Offers of employment are contingent on passing a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
