If you possess a passion for assisting individuals and delivering outstanding and reliable service, we invite you to join our team.Branch Service Specialists will work an average of 40 hours per week during our branch hours: Monday-Wednesday 9am-5pm, Thursday and Friday 9am-6pm, and Saturday 9am-1pm.
Overview of Responsibilities:
Perform a comprehensive range of member sales and service functions, along with teller transactions, to provide the desired member experience.
Focus on understanding member needs through active listening, asking insightful questions, and cross-selling products and services as effective solutions to cultivate loyal member relationships.
Collaborate as a productive, cooperative, and engaged team member to serve members and achieve individual and branch team goals.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilize a consultative approach when assisting members, posing impactful questions to identify and fulfill member needs, both recognized and unrecognized.
Listen for member cues and apply in-depth knowledge of our products and services to cross-sell and offer solutions tailored to member needs, emphasizing the benefits and value to the member.
Adhere to MSGCU's service standards to execute teller transactions and member service responsibilities with focus and understanding, ensuring accurate processing and balancing of the teller drawer and checks at the end of the day.
Teller transactions encompass, but are not limited to: cashing checks, processing deposits and withdrawals, facilitating member payments, handling certificate of deposit transactions, and maintaining member accounts.
Member service responsibilities include, but are not limited to: processing loan applications, opening new memberships, establishing IRAs, setting up automated services, and providing support to the Call Center as needed.
Comprehend and comply with all MSGCU policies, procedures, and guidelines for both the Member Service and Teller roles.Effectively communicate ownership options to members; clarify eligibility requirements for membership; and ensure that all paperwork, documentation, and signatures are completed accurately as required.
Exceed member service expectations and build trusting relationships with members by being the financial expert and demonstrating a genuine interest in the member and their financial success.
Employ Creating Member Loyalty skills to effectively address member complaints and resolve issues by collaborating with members to identify mutually beneficial solutions.
Offer Credit Life, Credit Disability, and GAP when identified in our members' best interest to protect them and MSGCU.
Generate new business by proactively asking for business and referrals.Maintain awareness of competitor fees and products and possess a general understanding of the current financial landscape.
Actively engage with the branch team to ensure members are served efficiently and promptly.

Essential Preparation and Experience:
High school diploma or GED;
6 months of experience as a teller in a financial institution or as a retail sales representative/cashier;
Either:
2 years of retail sales experience, or
Associate degree preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, or Finance, or
1 year of member/customer-facing experience within a financial institution.
Working Conditions:
Office and branch location environment with minimal discomfort from noise, extreme temperatures, dust, or other factors.
Required to travel throughout MSGCU's service area to support other branches as business needs arise.
Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, such as robbery.
This role involves sitting most of the time with brief periods of walking or standing and may occasionally require lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.

Base hourly pay begins at $17.80 / hourTeam members in this role are eligible to earn incentives as part of our variable compensation plan.

If you are at least 21 years old, you will receive a 3% contribution from MSGCU, and a 100% match for the next 7% you contribute to your 401(k).
You will enjoy 12 paid holidays and up to 120 hours of PTO your first year of service (pro-rated based on start date).
