About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and supportive Substitute Instructional Assistant to join our team at the Lexington School for the Deaf. As a key member of our staff, you will work closely with classroom teachers to deliver personalized instruction and support to our deaf students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic support to students, including homework assistance and study skills guidance.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement behavioral interventions.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure smooth transitions and share student progress.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in education, special education, or related field preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
  • Proven ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
