Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our clinical care team at UT Southwestern Medical Center. As a valued member of our team, you will work collaboratively with our clinical caregivers, patients, and families to improve and maintain ideal lung health for all ages. Your expertise in respiratory care will be instrumental in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services.
Responsibilities- Administer therapy according to departmental policies and procedures, demonstrating decision-making skills in patient assessment and plan of care.
- Assist in writing procedures or giving in-services as needed, perform technical procedures, and operate equipment with a high level of expertise.
- Maintain knowledge of infrequently used equipment and ordered patient therapeutics, assessing patient and family's knowledge deficit regarding cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology.
- Adhere to department administrative procedures, including error-free patient charge entry, timely and concise shift report, accurate documentation, and accurate EMR order management.
- Demonstrate activities consistent with the financial objectives of the department, assuming and performing charge therapist duties when assigned.
- Two (2) years of critical care experience preferred.
- A.A.S graduate of an accredited program in respiratory care (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- License by the Texas Medical Board.
- Registered by the NBRC.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association (AHA).
