Role Summary:
The Environmental Services Aide is responsible for the thorough cleaning and sanitization of patient rooms, auxiliary spaces, and other designated areas within the healthcare facility, adhering to established cleaning protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilizes appropriate cleaning agents and chemicals in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Efficiently cleans and prepares patient rooms, beds, stretchers, and other assigned areas.
  • Conducts scrubbing, mopping, and buffing of floors.
  • Dusts and polishes furniture to maintain a clean environment.
  • Cleans interior glass windows, woodwork, restrooms, and fixtures.
  • Sanitizes kitchen sinks and dining areas.
  • Disposes of waste in designated trash receptacles.
  • Follows safe and effective cleaning procedures.
  • Adheres to all relevant schedules, sanitation, and safety protocols.
  • Participates in a minimum of 85% of monthly staff meetings within the Environmental Services Department.
  • Maintains assigned areas in a tidy, clean, and sanitary condition.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:
This role requires walking for extended periods, standing for limited durations, and the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Frequent pushing and pulling of weights up to 50 lbs may be necessary. The position also involves occasional bending, stooping, and reaching above shoulder level, along with normal hearing and vision capabilities.

Education:
A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency is preferred.

Training and Experience:
Preferred candidates will have three to six months of experience in a housekeeping role within a hospital or institutional environment.
