We are seeking a highly skilled Rheumatology Team Lead to join our team at Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional project teams and providing technical leadership in the area of rheumatology.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and oversee novel scientific projects, managing the work of others directly and in a matrixed structure.
- Oversee the design and execution of relevant target and drug candidate mechanism of action studies using contemporary methods and tools.
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, and quantitative analyses in written and/or oral form.
- Proactively identify complex obstacles to progress in specific areas, recommend and implement solutions using a diverse set of resources.
- Manage a wide variety of tasks, techniques, and projects, integrating these responsibilities to produce quality results with a high level of efficiency.
- Support or identify business development opportunities to enhance project progression or functional capability expansion.
- Act as a scientific mentor and communicate with colleagues effectively.
- Present data to other scientific staff or cross-functional project teams, and may present data/posters to external research or scientific communities.
- PhD degree in a scientific discipline with 7+ years of experience, or MS with 13+ years of experience, or BS with 15+ years of experience.
- 5 years of industry experience required, 5 years of managerial experience required.
- Expertise in the design and execution of in vivo and in vitro studies for the evaluation of disease-related biology and inflammation pathology.
- Deep knowledge of animal models of liver or other inflammatory diseases, and cell systems for evaluating interactions between immune cells and inflammation.
- Expertise in one therapeutic modality (small molecules, antibodies & biologics, ASOs/siRNA) and familiarity with other modalities.
- Demonstrated ability to independently solve scientific problems using multiple technologies and approaches.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
