Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Budget Analyst to join our team at the US Department of Homeland Security. As a key member of our financial management team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and oversight on budgetary operations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, assign, and evaluate the work of a team of budget analysts to ensure effective and efficient budget execution.
  • Develop and implement budget policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to senior staff on budget formulation and execution.
  • Evaluate fiscal year budget proposals to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address budgetary issues and concerns.
Requirements
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as planning, assigning, and evaluating work; utilizing analytical methods to evaluate budgetary operations and procedures; advising senior staff on technical aspects of budget formulation and execution; and evaluating fiscal year budget proposals.
  • Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service.
  • Current or former Federal employees MUST submit a copy of their SF-50 Form which shows competitive service appointment.
