The Project Manager will oversee field operations related to the Remedial Construction Service Area, reporting directly to the Service Area Manager.
KEY REMEDIAL CONSTRUCTION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Willingness to travel (up to 100% & Company vehicle provided)
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Commit to 8+ hours per day, up to 6 days a week.
- Participate in project initiation meetings.
- Adhere to all corporate, office, and administrative guidelines and policies.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record and comply with established vehicle use practices.
- Follow established health and safety protocols, including site-specific requirements.
- Complete all necessary training requirements.
- Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including a full-face respirator (clean shave required).
- Report all incidents of injury, property damage, accidental release, and near misses.
- Present a professional appearance.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
ESSENTIAL FIELD MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure compliance with Company Policy.
- Assist in selecting and procuring vendors, equipment, and subcontractors for upcoming projects.
- Act as Safety Officer while on site.
- Document daily safety meetings.
- Utilize skills to assign tasks and motivate project team members.
- Ensure public and private utility locates are completed and appropriately marked before commencing work.
- Execute project objectives as defined by the scope of work, specifications, and health and safety plan.
- Communicate current project status and upcoming project needs to the Project Manager or Service Area Manager.
- Prepare project daily reports.
- Assist the Project Manager or Service Area Manager in developing client invoices.
- Ensure projects are completed within schedule and budget constraints as defined by the Project Manager or Service Area Manager.
- Maintain communication with client field representatives.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and vehicles are routinely inspected, properly maintained, and deficiencies corrected.
- Keep the shop maintained in a clean and organized manner.
- Identify new business opportunities through relationships with existing clients.
- Explore cross-selling opportunities with other service areas.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Years of construction experience.
- Years of supervisory/management experience.
- Years of environmental remediation experience.
- Combination of experience and education that meets the minimum requirements may be considered.
- Knowledge of remedial construction techniques, including UST closure projects, dig & haul projects, treatment system installations, soil mixing, plant decommissioning, and demolition.
- Familiarity with OSHA construction standards and ability to interpret regulations and guidance.
- Ability to develop innovative solutions to complex construction challenges.
- Strong communication skills.
- Professional writing skills.
- Understanding of general engineering principles.
- Ability to read and comprehend Gantt Chart style project schedules.
- Ability to read and interpret project drawings and notes.
- Skilled in negotiating and procuring cost-effective resources to achieve project objectives.
- Experience in managing out-of-scope work and developing change order costs.
- Ability to evaluate subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Experience in developing load lists, field instructions, and securing travel/lodging for jobs.
- Participation in client pre-construction meetings.
- Experience with bid opportunities, including site visits, production estimates, and obtaining supplier quotations.
- Ability to delegate to and manage Field Supervisors, Field Technicians, and Heavy Equipment Operators in executing EFS projects with limited supervision.
- Experience mentoring Field Supervisors, Field Technicians, and Heavy Equipment Operators.
- Experience in developing load lists, field instructions, and securing travel/lodging for jobs.
- Ability to generate $2.5M in gross revenue annually.
