Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic team at Ashe Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our Rehabilitation Services department, you will play a vital role in implementing treatment programs established by our Occupational Therapists, ensuring the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Implement treatment plans through the selection of appropriate tasks, exercises, or modalities to assist individuals in developing or regaining skills necessary for meeting their goals and maximizing their functional independence.
  • Document progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Consult with other Rehabilitation professionals to ensure integrated and coordinated treatment approaches.
  • Utilize various modalities, including electric stimulation, ultrasound, and hot packs, to maximize individual motor and sensory performance.
  • Perform therapeutic exercises, joint mobilization, and ADL retraining to promote patient independence.
  • Requisition supplies and tools for patient care and set up equipment according to infection control policies.
  • Fill out billing sheets and route them to the appropriate billing station.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Possess a valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Acute care experience preferred.
Work Environment

Non-guaranteed hours, Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm, with occasional weekend coverage may be requested.
