Position Overview

This role is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), which provides reimbursement for student loan payments. Role Responsibilities

The Clinical Practice Manager (CPM) will oversee and lead interdisciplinary patient care services within the Primary Care environment. The CPM will collaborate with the Nurse Manager to manage the daily operations of the designated practice group. The incumbent will serve as the primary supervisor for physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants within that group. Each CPM will participate in the Primary Care Clinical Board, taking on specific clinical leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Collaborating with the Primary Care Division and other divisions within the Medical Center to meet quality care standards and productivity goals.
  • Leading initiatives for process improvement and striving to achieve patient satisfaction targets, access to care standards, and clinical performance benchmarks.
  • Ensuring that policies, practices, and services within the practice group align with the mission and vision of the Primary Care Division, the VA Portland Health Care System, and the Veterans Health Administration.
  • Working with other divisions to ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Providing primary care services to a defined patient panel.
  • Practicing in accordance with professional standards and core values, demonstrating a commitment to high-quality clinical care.
  • Being accountable to all members of the Primary Care Clinical Board, including the Clinical Director and Administrative Director.
  • Providing leadership and guidance across the Primary Care Division.
  • Exhibiting flexibility and commitment to meet the evolving needs of a complex patient care system and advocating for quality patient care.
  • Fostering an environment that promotes cooperation and integration of clinical and administrative roles, enhancing productivity and satisfaction.
  • Being attentive to staff concerns and promoting their education and professional development.
  • Understanding current labor relations practices and laws.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements specified in the job announcement.

Basic Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth.
  • Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty training program.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
