About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI). As a Social Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting the Home Study and Post Release Services department, providing culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate clinical case management services to vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical case management services to individuals with significant needs, including unaccompanied children and their sponsors.
  • Conduct brief interventions to help families address crises and manage conflict, as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized case plans, taking into account cultural, linguistic, and special circumstances.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records, adhering to USCRI and ORR policies and procedures.
  • Provide information, education, referrals, outreach, advocacy, and support to ensure access to necessary services.
  • Assess the safety and appropriateness of placements, using child welfare principles and social work best practices.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local pro bono legal resources and service providers.
  • Coordinate and maintain communication with key stakeholders, including supervisors, headquarters staff, and clients.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field, with at least three years of progressive experience.
  • Graduate-level licensure (LMSW/LGSW) is preferred, or a Bachelor's degree with at least five years of clinical experience.
  • At least one year of direct clinical experience, preferably in child welfare, child placements, family preservation, behavioral health counseling, and social service provision.
  • Knowledge of trauma-responsive service provision and crisis intervention skills.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required, with proficiency in additional languages a plus.
  • Dedication to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and displaced people.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, including past history of conviction of child and sexual abuse.
