At AdventHealth, we're seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician III to join our team in Microbiology. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing various laboratory procedures, including analytical testing of blood and human biological specimens. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy in our laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform various support activities to facilitate the operation of the laboratory, including answering the telephone, clerical and/or receptionist duties.
  • Conduct pre-analytical activities related to laboratory testing, including general and analytical equipment maintenance, function checks and documentation, inventory control and supply stocking, and specimen collection.
  • Perform all expected tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately, according to hospital procedures, performance standards, and departmental competency standards.
  • Provide resolution to customer service issues within guidelines and support education to clinical staff as appropriate or requested.
  • Participate in laboratory and hospital Performance Improvement activities, including evaluation of new equipment and/or procedures or methods.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.
