Job Summary:

As a Pediatric Psychologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing psychological testing, counseling, and evaluations to defined populations. Your expertise will be instrumental in assessing and treating children, adolescents, and adults, ensuring they receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer, score, and interpret psychometric and projective tests, as well as other psychodiagnostic techniques and behavior observations, to provide comprehensive assessments.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each patient, ensuring effective and compassionate care.
  • Conduct initial interviews, gather relevant information, and determine the urgency of each patient's needs, providing timely and professional guidance.
  • Render immediate guidance and therapy to patients in crisis or requiring clinical services, ensuring their well-being and safety.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of therapy, prepare reports, and communicate with social agencies, schools, and other relevant parties to ensure seamless care.
  • Provide telephone assessments, counseling, resource information, and referrals, transmitting diagnostic and assessment information to referring professionals through verbal and written reports.
  • Conduct program evaluations to assess the quality of care and cost-effectiveness of clinical procedures, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Offer consultation and inservice training to other mental health professionals on clinical issues relevant to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological disorders.
  • Participate in research on human behavior and possible methods for eliminating psychological disorders, contributing to the advancement of the field.
Requirements:
  • Two or more years of post-graduate experience in a behavioral health setting, or a pre-doctoral internship, post-doctoral internship, or fellowship at Kaiser Permanente.
  • Doctorate degree from an APA-accredited doctorate program with specialization in a field of clinical or counseling psychology.
  • Psychologist License (California).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Internship in an APA-approved program.
