Compensation and Benefits Coordinator

Open Systems Technologies is seeking a Compensation and Benefits Coordinator to enhance our team.
Compensation: Up to $80,000
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily payroll functions and manage the processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for both the US and Canada, ensuring timely preparation and distribution.
- Conduct thorough reviews and reconciliations of payroll data prior to processing, maintaining checks and balances for accuracy.
- Generate, balance, and submit 1099s and W2s, collaborating with HR and Benefits teams to manage 401K and benefits administration.
- Verify wage calculations, overtime, compensatory time, and deductions to ensure adherence to federal and state regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, maintaining accuracy within the payroll system.
- Review and authorize bi-weekly payroll journal entries, ensuring proper allocation of payroll expenses by department.
- Manage employee data updates, including new hires and status changes, within the payroll and employee databases.
- Examine employee time and attendance records to ensure accurate payroll processing and address any discrepancies.
- Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting for management review.
- Administer employee garnishments, levies, and wage assignments with precision.
- Coordinate 401(K) contribution data and collaborate with financial institutions to validate funding amounts.
- Prepare payroll reports for tax returns and compliance audits related to 401K.
- Assist in reviewing and refining payroll policies and procedures.
- Manage federal and state tax filings and withholdings, ensuring compliance with reporting and payment requirements.
- Address complex inquiries regarding payroll matters and conduct research on state-level benefits affecting payroll.
- Lead and inspire team members to produce high-quality work while ensuring efficient workflow.
- Engage in special projects and additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience or a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of payroll experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of payroll processing, tax regulations, and wage laws across various states.
- Ability to enhance and streamline processes and procedures.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with payroll systems such as Paycom, Netsuite, and Job Diva/Bullhorn is advantageous.
