POSITION SUMMARY:
The role involves operating various production machinery and auxiliary equipment as assigned by the rotation schedule or supervisor. This position is critical to maintaining safety standards and ensuring quality production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose and resolve issues with machinery to ensure the production of high-quality components in a safe manner.
- Execute order changes by inputting startup and shutdown commands into the DelmiaWorks system.
- Document all downtime reasons in the ERP system for effective tracking.
- Ensure that raw materials meet the necessary specifications for production.
- Conduct hourly sampling and visual inspections of production output, documenting quality metrics and placing products on hold when necessary.
- Manage color changes and keep the supervisor informed about the status of these changes.
- Alert the supervisor or lead about any quality concerns regarding production output.
- Monitor material quality and request additional supplies as needed.
- Verify that all machine sensors, cap-guides, and adjustable conveyors are functioning correctly.
- Report any machine malfunctions to the supervisor and complete maintenance work requests.
- Notify the supervisor or lead if machinery cannot operate at standard levels.
- Maintain cleanliness of machines and work areas, including the removal of materials, oils, and scheduled sanitation tasks.
- Manage the filling and emptying of color and virgin hoppers.
- Inspect and sort scrap materials as required.
- Provide coverage for Production Operators and Mold Technicians during breaks.
- Serve as a backup for Production Operators and Mold Technicians across different shifts, volunteering for coverage during absences.
- Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures diligently.
- Complete all necessary documentation for assigned machinery, adhering to the manufacturing Work Order (BOM).
- Reintroduce rejected parts after thorough inspection if they meet quality standards.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in Green Area Meetings.
- Comply with all Food Safety policies and procedures.
- Follow all safety rules, policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Inspect rejected cartons visually and sort as necessary.
- Complete required training for the position, including Track Pro / Paulson training.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
SKILLS AND EQUIPMENT:
Mechanical aptitude is necessary. Familiarity with tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, Allen wrenches, manual pallet jacks, channel locks, torches, welding gloves, scissor lifts, grinders, face shields, and forklifts is required.
CONTACTS:
This position involves collaboration with Mold Technicians, Production Operators, Production Supervisors, Maintenance personnel, Warehouse staff, Quality Assurance Managers, and Production Managers.
SUPERVISION:
The role reports directly to the Production Supervisor.
