RF Desense Engineer at Tesla

We are seeking a highly skilled RF Desense Engineer to join our Wireless Hardware team at Tesla. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the design and development of next-generation wireless radio solutions for our vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop RF hardware boards with expertise in impedance matching and layout review
  • Bring up prototypes and co-validate with BT/WiFi/GNSS
  • Define RF hardware requirements and implement in factory tests
  • Work with RF module/components suppliers and cross-functional staff to optimize RF performance
  • Contribute to vehicle-level systems engineering, including architecture issues, communications, functionality trade-offs, grounding, and EMC strategy
Requirements
  • Strong RF/Microwave circuit design background
  • Experience with Wireless (Cellular/WiFi/BT/GNSS) RF board/IC development and Multi-Radio Co-existence
  • Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, verification, and manufacturing support
  • Successful track record of working closely with Mechanical Engineering and Firmware teams
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated technical depth and breadth in RF system analysis and design for high-volume product development
  • RF circuits design experience preferred (minimum 5 years): LTE, UMTS, WiFi/BT, GPS
  • Minimum of one lifecycle in RF board development for high-volume manufacturing and required test methods or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience in designing for environmental constraints (temp, humidity, and vibration), regulatory compliance, and product debug (EMC/EMI, ESD, transients, etc)
  • Demonstrated success working in a matrix organization across multiple engineering disciplines, including firmware, QA, and Manufacturing teams

Expected compensation: $108,000 - $216,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
