Job Summary

Cary Medical Center is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join their Laboratory team. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in the collection of biological specimens for laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood and other biological specimens from patients in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of specimens by following established protocols and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with laboratory technologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless specimen processing.
  • Provide excellent patient care and communication, explaining procedures and answering questions in a clear and concise manner.
  • Meet productivity and quality standards, consistently obtaining optimal quality specimens and responding promptly to STAT and URGENT requests.
Requirements
  • No license required - on-the-job training provided.
  • Obtainment of Phlebotomy Certification required within the first 6 months of employment.
  • CPR and basic first aid recommended.
  • High school graduate or equivalent GED.
Work Schedule

Candidates must be flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Floating to other units may be required.
