Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients within your specialized field. You will also advise and confer with members of other disciplines to ensure patients receive comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain, review, and update individual medical information, including medical histories, test results, diagnoses, and prescribed treatments.
  • Conduct physical examinations, order and perform diagnostic tests, and determine and confirm diagnoses.
  • Prescribe and administer treatments, medication, therapies, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care to prevent or treat illness, disease, or injury.
  • Conduct follow-up examinations and monitor individual conditions, modifying treatment as needed.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and disciplines to achieve treatment goals and ensure continuity of care.
Requirements
  • Must possess a license to practice medicine in New York State.
  • Must have completed a residency training program in your specialty approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
  • Must not be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists.
Additional Information

This position is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). HELPS Program titles may be filled via a non-competitive appointment. At a future date, employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to have their permanent non-competitive employment status converted to permanent competitive status.
