Job Responsibilities:

The following outlines the primary responsibilities associated with this position. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.

  1. Assist in underwriting renewal business with minimal oversight from an underwriter.
  2. Clearly articulate liability and other program coverages to clients and potential clients.
  3. Provide guidance to Underwriting Clerks and Policy Typists.
  4. Review policies, endorsements, audits, cancellations, etc., resolve discrepancies, and implement necessary changes.
  5. Conduct rating assessments for new and renewal business.
  6. Oversee all account documentation.
  7. Process policy servicing requests including endorsements, audits, company requests, certificates, premium finance notices, and cancellations.
  8. Invoice and manage new business and renewal binders, premium-bearing endorsements, and cancellations in accordance with internal guidelines.
  9. Initiate new submissions in the clearance system and manage them per established protocols.
  10. Generate cancellation and non-renewal notices adhering to statutory and contractual obligations.
  11. Maintain underwriting files for accounts without issued policies and manage them according to company procedures.
  12. Ensure the pending/suspense system is maintained as per established guidelines.
  13. Organize account files in compliance with company policy.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree with a focus on business or equivalent professional experience.
  2. Minimum of one year of experience in wholesale insurance.
  3. State-specific Insurance License is required.
  4. Experience as an Underwriting Clerk or three years of general insurance experience.
  5. Ability to comprehend and analyze essential components of insurance policies.
  6. Knowledge of commercial multi-line underwriting and rating processes.
  7. Proficiency in using company automation tools including Windows, Delphi, Word, DocuCorp, and Rackley ISO Rating Software.
  8. Capacity to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clients.
  9. Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  10. Current knowledge of the insurance industry is essential.
  11. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  12. Willingness to work extended hours when necessary.

Compensation and Benefits:

The annual base salary for this position is competitive.

Benefits Overview:

All regular employees (not temporary or contingent workers) working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits, though eligibility for specific benefits may vary based on the division of CRC Insurance Services, Inc. offering the position. CRC provides medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and other voluntary benefits. All regularly scheduled employees can contribute to a 401(k) savings plan, with eligibility for company matching contributions after one year of service. Employees receive a minimum of 10 days of vacation during their first year of employment, along with sick days and paid holidays.
