Job Summary:

This role supports and enhances the activities of the practice by providing administrative and clinical support and coordinating daily operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical assisting and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinates and oversees clerical and clinical functions.
• Coordinates and/or performs clinical support duties, including preparing exam rooms, rooming patients, and assisting healthcare providers during exams and procedures.
• Schedules patients for procedures, diagnostic testing, and office visits, and provides patients with instructions and serves as liaison between the physician and patients.
• Screens and directs telephone calls, takes appropriate actions, and responds to internal and external customer inquiries.
• Supports front office functions, including registration, chart preparation, insurance verifications, precertification, and billing.
• Orders and tracks inventory of operational and clinical items.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of clerical support, insurance verification, and registration experience in a medical office setting or equivalent education.
• Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (National Healthcare Association-NHA, American Association of Medical Assistants- AAMA, American Medical Technologists- AMT, National Center for Competency Testing- NCCT, American Medical Certification Association- AMCA).
• CPR – American Heart Association.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree.
• Medical Assistant program graduate.
• Driver's license.
