Job Summary

RCHP-AHC Reformed Church of Highland Park Affordable Housing Corp. is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will provide post-release services and comprehensive case management for Unaccompanied Children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate post-placement services and comprehensive case management for Unaccompanied Children.
  • Needs Assessments: Complete individualized needs assessments with Unaccompanied Children and their sponsors, and develop case plans with particular attention to culture, language, and special circumstances.
  • Caseload Management: Carry a minimum caseload of 25, but not to exceed 40 cases.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain a high standard of record-keeping according to USCRI and ORR policies and procedures.
  • Information and Referrals: Provide information, education, referrals, outreach, advocacy, and support to ensure that each child receives the services they require.
  • Placement Assessments: Assess the safety and appropriateness of the placement on an ongoing basis using child welfare principles and social work best practices through phone/video calls, interviews, and home visits.
  • Network Development: Build a network of local pro bono legal resources and service providers to facilitate access for Unaccompanied Children and sponsors, and track individual progress.
  • Communication: Coordinate and maintain communication with key stakeholders.
  • Training and Development: Participate in regular training and communication sessions with supervisor and headquarters staff.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in social work, a behavioral science, or social services field with a minimum of two years' progressive experience in the fields listed above.
  • Experience: Experience with immigrant populations, child welfare, child placements, family preservation, and social service provision is desired.
  • Skills: Must be skilled at writing professional, thorough reports; possess an extensive knowledge of immigrant community local resources; and have excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Language: Fluency in Spanish is required; proficiency in additional languages a plus.
  • Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license, insurance, a clean driving record, and personal transportation; and possess or be able to obtain CPR and basic first aid certification.
Benefits
  • Compensation: Salaried compensation at $69,000/year.
  • Benefits: Includes two weeks of paid vacation per year, 5 personal days/year, 5 sick days/year; RCHP-AHC will pay 100% of the health insurance premium for the employee, and 50% for dependents, with Horizon BCBSNJ Omni Silver plan.
