Overview:
This role independently operates ultrasound machinery to generate high-quality diagnostic echocardiography, ensuring optimal patient care:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inpatient and outpatient diagnostic cardiac sonograms following the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) standards for digital image acquisition.
  • Execute advanced echo imaging, including echo guidance for interventional procedures such as ECMO, LVAD, ASD devices, Balloon Septostomy, and PCE taps.
  • Assist with intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).
  • Accountable for performing, archiving, and calculating all pediatric cardiac ultrasound imaging using appropriate machine optimization, probe selection, and patient positioning.
  • Employ critical thinking and a segmental approach during imaging to produce diagnostic high-quality studies for normal to complex congenital heart defects.
  • Fully participate in the call schedule, including satellite areas.
  • Engage in biweekly educational echo conferences and clinical research initiatives.
  • Serve as a preceptor for students and fellows.
  • Involve in quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

  • Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Echocardiography required.
  • Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

CREDENTIALS AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Certification in Pediatric Echo by ARDMS or CCI (ARDMS preferred) required.
  • Certification in one (1) of the following: Fetal, Adult, Vascular preferred.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as mandated by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements required.
