Job Summary

The Supply Chain Supervisor is a key role within our organization, responsible for overseeing all operational activities related to order entry, load planning, and load monitoring. This position requires strong leadership skills, as the successful candidate will supervise a team of salaried employees and be responsible for performance management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of salaried employees, including performance review, corrective action, and goal setting
  • Provide detailed instructions to various personnel via email and phone
  • Act as the first point of contact for customer inquiries
  • Assist in new customer implementations
  • Prioritize time-sensitive situations
  • Work with the team to schedule deliveries to receivers and provide excellent customer service
  • Ensure customer KPIs are met on a daily and weekly basis
  • Track shipments to ensure on-time delivery
  • Handle rate negotiations with carriers on a spot rate basis
  • Analyze process data and work on continuous improvements
  • Identify cost savings opportunities for the customer
  • Ensure all business needs are covered, including vacations and illness
Requirements
  • 2-5 years of experience in the logistics/supply chain industry
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role
  • JDA Transportation Management System experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills
  • Strong customer focus
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time-sensitive situations
  • Advanced desktop computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to learn and operate various computer systems across different platforms
  • Ability to lead and develop a team of salaried associates
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers and Penske personnel
