We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Coordinator to join our team in Latrobe, PA. In this role, you will provide patient-oriented service in a clinical or front office setting, performing various clerical and administrative duties related to patient care.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of $2,000 per month. You will be required to have flexibility to work any schedule during a 24/7 time frame. Occasional overtime may be necessary based on business needs.

The ideal candidate will have high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in a hospital, office setting, customer service setting, or phone support role. Intermediate level typing skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and families are also essential.

As a Patient Care Coordinator at Optum, you will be responsible for:

  • Communicating directly with patients and families to complete the registration process, collecting patient demographics, health information, and verifying insurance eligibility
  • Utilizing computer systems to enter and verify patient data, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information
  • Gathering necessary clinical information and processing referrals, pre-certification, pre-determinations, and pre-authorizations according to insurance plan requirements
  • Verifying insurance coverage, benefits, and creating price estimates as needed
  • Collecting patient co-pays and conducting conversations about out-of-pocket financial obligations
