This role will be responsible for designing heat tracing systems based on customer specifications, ensuring customer satisfaction and Thermon profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project specifications and documentation to develop a thorough understanding of the scope of work.
  • Follow project requirements, quality, schedule, and other technical restrictions.
  • Adhere to established processes and procedures, including the Project Design guide, Project Execution Guide, and Quality Plan.
  • Maintain the Project Design folder structure.
  • Provide input in the development of Global and Regional tools and procedures.
  • Interact with customer representatives on technical issues.
  • Create and review drawings using VisiTrace, Computrace, and other Thermon software or methodology.
  • Prepare and review drawings for accuracy and check/approve drawings prepared by other designers.
  • Conduct site surveys to gather information required for heat tracing design.
Requirements
  • Experience in heat tracing design.
  • Technical proficiency in drafting drawings in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Advanced experience with MS Office skills.
  • Working technical knowledge of electricity (Ohm's Law, voltage, amperage, circuits).
  • Working technical knowledge of piping and insulation systems and components.
  • Working knowledge of P&IDs (Piping & Instrument Diagrams).
  • Working knowledge of Codes and Standards that pertain to heat tracing (IEEE 515, IEC/IEEE NEC, IEC, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to generate new ideas, challenge the status quo, take risks, support change, encourage innovation, and solve problems creatively.
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to team members, supervisors, and internal/external customers.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or Certificate of Technology plus 3+ years of heat trace experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include 1+ years of manufacturing or Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) experience, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
