Reporting Structure:
This role reports directly to the Control Room Manager.
Position Summary:
The Pipeline Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Midstream Integrity Services (MIS) System. This role involves supporting daily operational decisions regarding pipeline management, requiring keen attention to detail and effective prioritization skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the operations of natural gas and liquid pipelines.
- Coordinate emergency response efforts in accordance with established protocols.
- Analyze and monitor pipeline operating metrics such as flow rates, pressure levels, and temperature readings across various facilities.
- Evaluate pipeline system performance and overall capacity.
- Maintain effective communication with field operations teams.
- Document all operational activities thoroughly.
- Identify and respond to abnormal operating conditions (AOCs).
- Serve as the primary point of contact for operational inquiries.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two years of experience in a control room environment.
Essential Skills:
- Ability to monitor multiple computer screens in a control room setting while adhering to a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain a high level of mental acuity and composure during emergency situations, where rapid response is crucial.
- Proficient computer skills are essential.
